Pregnancy and Acne – Are They Related?

When a woman is with child, the body goes through a series of changes. Not only will she suffer from morning sickness and mood swings, but she may also get acne problems to boot. This can be a daunting task to surmount for a woman if she is losing self esteem and feels ugly. Many women simply want to be acne free in 3 days. If she put on the pounds, then this may be true.
As the baby grows inside the mother, the balance of hormones will fluctuate a lot. Acne can be brought on by this hormonal shift. Non pregnant women are normally given medicine to help quell the acne onslaught. This could be a typical oral type of medicine. The use of medicine is frowned upon for woman who are with child.
Even common medicines you can buy over the counter are not encouraged to be used. Dealing with this issue is extremely frustrating for pregnant women.Therefore, many women opt to wait until their child is born before they fix their acne problem.Discussing the issue with their OB/GYN, should help greatly in this matter.
Acne is the worst during the first 3 months of a woman’s pregnancy. During this period, fluctuating hormone levels are a given. This causes more oil to be produced by the body and in turn, leads to acne.
The acne on a pregnant woman will vanish dramatically once the first trimester is behind her. Therefore, it is best if women wait until their first trimester is finished with, before they seek treatment. If the pregnant woman is still concerned, she should seek out help right away from an OB/GYN.
Having acne is not a fun condition. When we have it, we typically do not feel our best. This can become worse for pregnant women. For women who are pregnant, acne onslaught is not a rarity. A solution to the problem should be put on hold until the second trimester is finished with.
