Trying To Get Pregnant
Any Foods To Increase Fertility?
Hello, my husband and i have decided that in December i will go off of birth control. We want to have a baby. We have decided to wait soo long because we are both military and he will be deployed and we would like him there for the birth of our baby. Anyways are there any foods that increase fertility so that we can get pregnant?

I heard that sweet potatoes boost fertility and I ate them when I got pregnant with both my kids. Also broccoli and other veggies. Mainly just try to eat lots of healthy foods and stay away from caffeine, alcohol, cigarettes, and greasy foods.

Hello- I strongly recommend the book Fertility Foods. You can get a very inexpensive copy with the buy it now option on Ebay. (I just checked) I have this book and it is VERY informative. Written by Dr. Jeremy Groll who is a reproductive endocrinologist.

In men the sperm count is supposed to rise with selenium and zinc in the diet- so hence why people joke about oysters to help the sex life.
But most shellfish have selenium and zinc
- so dont come the raw prawn and get crabby, mussel in and enjoy the crabs

Great question. Yes, there are foods that can increase fertility naturally. I recommend the book “The Infertility Cure” by Dr. Randine Lewis. She discusses diet changes that can increase your fertility. Some of the foods she recommends are organic foods, organic meat, fresh fruits and veggies, and foods high in B6 (pineapples, broccoli, cabbage, lettuce, most veggies). Good luck!
