Your body can not use and does not need that seminal fluid, so it does has to run out at some eventually. However you may be worried that you are losing this valuable sperm, More >

Unless she want to tattoo anywhere near her tummy, I guess the tattoo artist wont reject her. But there is risk of infected needle or open wound. As not everyone skins heals the same. What if your friend skin is allegy to the ink? she got to take medicine to cure her allegy, thats is 1 risk she putting herself and her baby. And how does she know that she wont be stress during tattoo session. It real pain you know!

It isn’t the law, but tattoos have a chance of getting infected. It’s a small chance, but there still is one. If the tattoo got infected, the infection could then lead to complications with the baby. It would be best off if your friend just waited, I am sure she doesn’t want her baby getting sick in case of an infection.
If the tattoo artist happens to ask if she is pregnant, they can refuse to tattoo her. I think any good tattoo artist would refuse, and if they don’t then they are some crappy artist who just care about money.

i agree with trish on this one. they have a right to say who they won’t tattoo. at least they are keeping her health in mind if they say no.

Why can’t she wait? Is she that determined to do something stupid that she’d risk stressing herself and the baby?
I would hope they refuse her.

I am really surprised the doctor gave her the ok. I agree with Olivia 100%. Why even take the smallest chance? No reputable shop would tattoo her any way, so if she found one that would, I wouldn’t want to use them in the first place.
And waiting until after breast feeding is correct as well. My friend’s doctor just told her that. It’s all about the risk of passing even the tiniest infection on to the child. Not worth it when just a little patience is all that is needed.

It should be a law….Protect yourself.
It’s just a few months out of your life.
Surely you can wait that long…
There is a small chance of something
being transmitted, why take that chance.?
Healthy baby, happy momma, tattoo later.

If she wants it on her belly or something they might get mad…..but no, its not illegal. why cant your friend just wait a few months?

A good tattoo artist will not tattoo a pregnant woman.
It isn’t necessarily that tattoos are bad for fetuses… it’s just that no one wants to be the last person to touch a woman who has something go wrong with her pregnancy. It’s a liability thing.
So, it’s not illegal per se, it’s just that most tattoo artists living the lawsuit-happy USA have other things to worry about.

tell her to wait. its best for her and the baby. and if shes breastfeeding after. i’d suggest to get the tattoo even after that

The risk of infection is small. There are no studies related to how the dyes might harm the fetus, but the greatest danger if at all would be during the first 12 weeks of pregnancy. No epidurals can be given through colored dyes on the back, only black. No black henna dyes whatsoever should ever be used. Here is the American Pregnancy Association’s medical advisory board’s recommendation related to tattoos and pregnancy:http://www.americanpregnancy.org/pregnan...

Her doctor told her it’s ok?
First off, your friend needs to find a new doctor, because there is NO WAY that it’s alright to get a tattoo when you’re pregnant.
Most shops will refuse her, those would be all the shops that are remotely clean and that have reasonably good artists. Nobody good wants to take the risk of accidentally causing harm to her.
Why in God’s name would she want to risk the health of her baby over something that is completely unnecessary.
Don’t get me wrong, I love tattoos, but I’m pregnant right now and I wouldn’t even consider getting pierced or tattooed right now.
Suppose she gets an infection, thats not just her getting the infection, it’s her unborn baby getting the infection too.
DO NOT LET YOUR FRIEND GET A TATTOO NOW, and don’t let her get a tattoo while shes breastfeeding either.
EDIT: I just want to say thanks for the thumbs down. I really have to applaud the person who disagrees with not risking the health of an unborn child.
