One of my co-workers said that gerital (sp?) works. I haven’t tested that theory, but she said it worked for her and her mother in law.

try eating lots of green veggies, broccoli especially, and drink lots of green tea, both are very helpful and baneful to fertility. also try yoga for fertility and keep your stress level at a very low while ttc. while ttc try not to let it take control of you and consume your every thought because that will only decrease your chances. keep alcohol and caffeine under control and in moderation because if you get to much of it your will only hurt your fertility. leave sea foods in the sea while ttc, because the Mercury and lead content goes against fertility and your efforts. metformin is a good to help with insulin resistance and will help get your cycles to regulate and thus helping you to ovulate more normally, so talk (if you haven’t already) to your doctor about getting on it.

Vitex berries, red raspberry leaves (make it into a tea), red clover (made into tea) and dong quai root are all natural remedies to help. some increase fertility, balance hormones, and make your vaginal environment more alkaline to be more suitable for sperm to survive.

Overly strict dieting that results in severe weight loss can disrupt ovulation in women or reduce sperm formation in men. Too much eating resulting in obesity may also negatively affect fertility. Scientific evidence supports only one specific food that may enhance fertility, and that’s the oyster. The reason is not due to any magical powers, but rather to its abundant amount of zinc.

Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) is starting to pick up some fanfare. You may want to research the use of herbs, acupuncture, and qi gong as you look into more “natural” alternatives.
A variety of herbs have been shown to stimulate the female hormones and functions necessary to conceive. These include:
• Damiana
• Dong quai
• Blue cohosh
• False unicorn root
• Ginseng
• Gotu kola
• Licorice root
• Wild yam root
For men, herbal treatments are centered on a whole body harmony and vigor as well as stimulation of male reproductive hormones. Some herbs often prescribed for infertility in men include:
• Astragalus extract
• Saw palmetto
• Ginseng
• Damiana
• Sarsaparilla
• Yohimbe

Do you have PCOS? Have you tried metformin? If you do have PCOS that pretty much makes you a candidate to see an RE instead of an OBGYN

Read the book “The Infertility Cure” by Randine Lewis. This book helps you take a look at underlying problems to help you balance your hormones and have a normal cycle. Also, it helps you choose the herbs that work right for your body. For example, some people swear by chasteberry (vitex), however, this herb does not work for women with a short menstrual cycle. There is a wealth of information in this book and with some time, you will be able to figure out the proper herbs for you. However, if you want some help, find an acupuncturist and/or herbalist in town and she can help you select the right herbs. Just so you know, I read this book and in the last two months, my hormones are now balanced (after being unbalanced for my entire fertile life). Hope this helps!
